---- — Dale R. Maller, 86, Bluffton, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in Rolling Meadows Health Care, LaFountaine. He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Wells County, to Samuel and Katie M. (Schwartz) Maller. He was married May 7, 1954, in Bluffton to Pauline J. Williams, who preceded him in death July 11, 1983.
He graduated from Bluffton High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947 and 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. He retired in 1991 from Kmart/Kresge after 32 years of service in distribution. He was a member of Park United Brethren Church and American Legion Post 111, both in Bluffton.
He was an avid bowler and loved golfing, playing pool and spending time with family.
Surviving are two sons, Brad (Joanne) Maller, Kokomo, and Jan (Deanna) Maller, LaFountaine, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Wayne and Roger Maller, and a sister, Marge Ringger.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Goodwin-Cale and Harnish Memorial Chapel, Bluffton, with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home. American Legion Post 111 will conduct military graveside rites.
