Levi Dean Sommers, 55, Hemlock, passed away at 4:33 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at his residence. Born July 15, 1958, in Goshen, he was the son of the late Ralph I. Sommers and Katie (Mullet) Sommers.
He was employed with General Cage in Elwood for 22 years. He enjoyed working outdoors, camping, NASCAR, and spending time with his family, especially at family outings. He was a friend to everyone.
Survivors include his fiancee, Donna L. Parsons, Hemlock; one brother, Wilbur (Lola) Sommers, Centrailia, Ohio; four sisters, Frieda Bowman, Kokomo, Judy Sommers, Goshen, Irene Zehring and Mary (Chuck) Carden, both of Kokomo; one niece, Kate Bowman, Pennsylvania; Donna’s children, Katie (Jerry) Schumacher and their children, Vanessa and Madelyn, Kokomo, Brian (Christi) Parsons and their daughter, Laney, Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Floyd Sommers, on Dec. 24, 2007.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo. Pastor James Bradley will officiate. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
