Ray Albert Robinson Jr., 82, Kokomo, passed away at 8:35 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, in Aperion Care, Kokomo. Born Sept. 25, 1931, in Long Beach, California, he was the son of the late Ray Albert Robinson and Nancy (Young) Erwin Robinson.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was divorced from his first wife, Henrietta (Wilson), and mother of their two sons, who preceded him in death in July 2013. On Oct. 27, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he married Janice Louise (Price), and she preceded him in death April 29, 2008.
He was employed with TCI Aluminum in California in shipping and receiving for 12 years prior to moving to Kokomo. He enjoyed leather tooling as a hobby.
Survivors include the two sons, Christopher Robinson, Freemont, California, and Ray Robinson III, Sacramento, California; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Cox, Kokomo, and Sandra Campbell, Lafayette; nieces and nephews, Cheryl Finch, Richard Cox Jr., Steven Cox, Janean Young, Angie Campbell and Jennifer Thomas.
There will be no visitation. Committal services with military rites will take place at a later date in Marion National Cemetery, Marion. Burial of cremains will follow.
