---- — On Saturday, May 10, 2014, Jim Helsley, 66, Russiaville, while at home, went to meet the Lord and the love of his life, Di, whom he lost in February 2014. He was born Nov. 12, 1947, to Orville and Lida Helsley, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965 and worked at Delco until 1978. On June 23, 1968, he married Dianna K. Turner, who was his everything for the next 45 years. He was an avid sports fan who always had a game playing on his TV.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Stacy (Travis) Walker, Russiaville; two grandsons who always brought a smile to his face, Andrew B. Smith, Kokomo, and Dalton Walker, Russiaville; two sisters, Judy (George) Thurston, Peru, and Mary Kay Roark, Kokomo; sister-in-law, Loretta Turner, Kokomo; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by many.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron DeGraaff officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
