---- — Meredith E. “Babe” Jenkins, 90, Sebring, Florida, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was born in Waupecong, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Babe worked as purchasing agent for Haynes Stellite, transferring to Union Carbide in New York City, where he retired after 42 years. He had been a Sebring resident since 1988.

Babe is survived by his wife, Betty, Sebring; sons, Jerry (Janet) Jenkins, Anderson, and Dennis Jenkins, West Palm Beach, Florida; daughter, Christina (Michael) Cernosek, Tampa, Florida; brother, Milton Jenkins, Kokomo; sister, Violet Kile, Russiaville; four grandchildren, Jonathan Jenkins, Jennifer (Jeff) Cornett, Jessica and Lauren Cernosek; and six great-grandchildren, Journey, Justin, Jayden, Jonah, Julia and Joel Cornett.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring, Florida, and beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday with services at 10:30 a.m. at Morris Funeral Chapel. Military honors will be at 1:30 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. The family suggests memorials to Cornerstone Hospice, 209 N.
