James Lee Nash, 67, Sharpsville, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born June 5, 1946, in Tipton, the son of William G. and Maxine (Quakenbush) Nash. On Jan. 6, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii, he married Maile L. Awo, who preceded him in death March 15, 2012.
Jim was a graduate of Sharpsville Prairie Township High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a farmer for Nash & Nash Farms. He was the former president of the Indiana Dorset Association. His memberships include the Indiana Hampshire Sheep Association, the Indiana Sheep Breeders Association, Pork Producers (county and state), Indiana Yorkshire Association, Indiana Hampshire Hog Association and 4-H, where he was an active member for 40 years.
Jim is survived by two sons, Billy (Tracy) Nash, Aurora, Illinois, and Kimo Lee Nash, Sharpsville; companion, Jill Carless, Anderson; three grandchildren, Tia and Trenda Nash and Erin Nash; brother, Dick (Nan) Nash, Sharpsville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Liberty Baptist Church, 3530 N. 1000 West, Tipton. Burial will be private in Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
