Bruce Darnell Douglas, 59, Kokomo, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at his residence. He was born Jan. 23, 1955 the son of William L. Douglas and Juanita Bell Douglas in Kokomo.
He was previously employed by Haynes International as a machine operator for 34 years. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Senior Usher Board. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers. He was a United States Army veteran, receiving an honorable discharge in 1979.
He is survived by his sons, Monwell and Marquise Douglas, Darrian Story and Chris Anderson; daughters, Tanalle Douglas-Martin (Nicolas), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Tunisia Douglas; brother, Jeffrey Douglas (Ruby), St. Louis; sisters, Kathryn Hillman, Brenda S. Parker, Linda Kay Douglas, Patricia Cannon, Robin Douglas and Veridean (Kirk) Bias; childhood friend, Stanley Merriwether (Judy), Indianapolis; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Sandra Douglas and Pamela Douglas.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Jeffrey Sirmons will be the officiant and eulogist. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Tuesday, at the church. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
