Dorothy Madelynn Lamb, 86, Greentown, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at Sterling House of Kokomo. She was born July 20, 1927 in Kokomo to Leonard M. and Dorothy L. (Oehmke) Chenoweth. On Dec. 13, 1945 she married William R. Lamb, who preceded her in death March 6, 1987. She graduated in 1945 from Kokomo High School. She worked for Brad Howell Ford in Greentown for 30 years retiring in 1998. After retirement she worked part time for Mast Furniture in Greentown. Madelynn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Kokomo, Order of the Eastern Star, Eastern School Board and Clerk Treasurer for Greentown.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Jameson, Kokomo, Nancy Nerney, Kokomo, Luann Guthrie, Kokomo, and Donna Lamb, California; two sisters, Phyllis Schwierman and Shirley Eads, both of Kokomo; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Rev. Larry Newberg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
