Robert L. “Jeff” Dollar, 54, Galveston, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday, June 7, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He was born Jan. 18, 1960, in Hartford City, to Twila V. and Mary L. (Boles) Dollar. On June 2, 1990, in Galveston, he married Marsha Pullen, and she survives.
Jeff was an electrician for Haynes International for 17 years. He graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1978. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Galveston, and attended Upper Deer Creek Church.
Jeff liked to be referred to as a “simple man,” but was far from it. He could fix anything, and took it as a challenge if someone said it couldn’t be done. His hobbies included flying model airplanes and gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Dollar, Galveston; daughters, Jessica (Orlando) Hernandez, Marion, Dara (Jason) Morris, Indianapolis, Kadee Dollar and fiance, Ian Klafka, Muncie, and Kirsten Dollar, Galveston; four grandchildren, J.C., Reese and Isabelle Hernandez, and baby Morris, due in December; two stepchildren, Monique and Orlando Hernandez, both from Arizona; siblings include, Betty Jo (Harry) Pearson, Hartford City, William (Sondra) Dollar, Montpelier, Tom Dollar, Richmond, Margie (Francis) Ford, Marion, Susan Cox, Springfield, Tennessee, Patty (Mike) Embry, Marion, Dan (Mel) Dollar, Marion and Lisa (Steve) Morris, Indianapolis; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maryann; and twin grandchildren, Jordan Lee and Jocelyn Renee Hernandez.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, 207 S. Sycamore St., Galveston, with Rev. Warren Purcell and Rev. Joe Coffin officiating. Visitation will be 3:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
