William Bryan Morgan III, 68, Kokomo, died at 1 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Northwoods Village. He was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Memphis, Tenn., the son of William Bryan II and Evelyn Nadine (Pemberton) Morgan. On Nov. 1, 2005, in Peru, he married Anne (Mills) Morgan, and she survives.
William was a 1963 graduate of Western High School and earned his electrical engineering degree from General Motors Institute. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired in 2000 after 37½ years of service as an electrical engineer for General Motors. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League and VFW Post 1152. William loved to cook. He was a ham radio operator, enjoyed photography, woodworking, camping, traveling with his wife and tinkering. He was a good carpenter and loved to restore things.
William is survived by his wife, Anne; five stepchildren, Michael S. Mills, Kokomo, Susan (Mills) Caldwell and husband Jim, South Bend, Richard Burnett Mills, South Bend, Harvey David Mills and wife Janet, South Bend, and Patrick Ora Mills and wife Bambi, Rossville; and 13 grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Lou Ann Morgan and Anne Marie Keith Morgan; and one brother, Ronald Lee Morgan.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Jeff Russell officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. until service time.
