Harold E. “Abe” Kessler, 79, Kokomo, died at 10:50 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at North Woods Village. He was born June 21, 1933, in Kokomo, to Glen and Ruby Kessler, who both preceded him in death.
Mr. Kessler graduated in 1951 from Northwestern High School and later attended Indiana University Kokomo. He worked at the Chrysler Transmission Plant where he was a layout engineer and supervisor. He volunteered with youth baseball and Junior Achievement.
Survivors include his former wife of 28 years, Juanita Kessler; a daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Isaacs; a son, Jeff (Jana) Kessler; six grandchildren, Shannon (Chad) Elmore, Jeff Issacs Jr., Jacob Issacs, Stephanie Biehle, Ashley (Ryan) Callahan and Kristopher Kessler; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Dick) Smith, and Patty (Max) Kingseed; and 18 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
