Timothy Virgil Sisneros

Timothy Virgil Sisneros, 59, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 28, 2013.

Tim was born Oct. 26, 1953, at St. Joseph Hospital in Howard County, to Caudy and Phyllis (Irick) Sisneros. He graduated from Kokomo High School, class of 1972. He went on to attend Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on a basketball scholarship. After college, Tim was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers and went on to play ball in Europe and Mexico. In 2005, Tim was inducted into the MTSU Hall of Fame as a member of MT’s 1000 point club and ranked seventh among all-time leading scorer.

Tim went into the Carpenter Union Local 734 in June 1976.Tim also worked for Millwrights Local Union 1029 from May of 1976 until retiring in November 2008.Tim served as the business agent for the union from 2003 to 2006.

Tim enjoyed fishing, and taking his many nieces and nephews camping. He spent hours in the woods with his dogs throughout the years. He had a passion and special gift for working with his hands. Tim built countless playhouses and decks for his many loved ones. He was known for his perfectionism, detail and commitment in everything he did.

He is survived by his brother, Michael (Lois) Sisneros; sister, Cindy (Thomas) Harrold; 10 nieces and nephews,Tracy (Brian) Smith, Manual Sisneros, Maghan (Kevin) Keller, Drew (Ashlie) Miller, Sean Sisneros, Mindy Sisneros, Nicole Sisneros, Taylor Miller, Lisa (Jason) Sisneros and Lia Sisneros; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a very special friend, Dottie Salsbery.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Patrick J. Sisneros.

At Tim’s request, funeral services will be replaced by a celebration of Tim’s life. This will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Celebration’s Banquet Hall located at 3437 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo. Come share memories, stories and food.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tim’s memory to Hear Indiana. To donate you can visit www.hearindiana.org/donate. You are also invited to read Tim’s obituary at www.ellersmortu ary.com where you may sign the guest book or share a personal message with the family. Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
