Terry Lee Coy, 59, Kokomo, passed away at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at his home. He was born to Don and Margie (Nelson) Coy Sept. 15, 1953, in Kokomo.
Terry was a man who led a life of celebration, compassion, and had a fiery attitude. It was his intelligence, general “know-how,” humor and willingness to help others in need that earned him the nickname “The Witchdoctor” among his friends. He will be greatly missed.
Terry graduated from Haworth High School in 1971 and earned his journeyman status at Chrysler Corp. as an electrician, serving over 25 years with the company.
Terry is survived by his parents, Margie Coy and Don (Ruth) Coy; his brothers, Monty Coy, Chad Coy and Trent Coy; his children, Terry L. Coy II, Angela Chatelain and Tamara Wiman; and his grandchildren, Ashley Wiman, Shian Lawson, Michael Munson, Gabriel Chatelain, Addie Chatelain, Julia Coy and Benjamin Coy.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
