Helen E. Delrymple, 93, Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Golden Years Residential Senior Care in Kokomo. She was born May 28, 1920, in Muncie, to Frank and Anna Baron. In 1948, in Howard County, Helen married Robert L. Delrymple. They were happily married for 23 wonderful years before his passing in December 1971. She was blessed to enjoy many additional years with her significant other, Leo Campbell, before his passing in October 1987.
Helen graduated from Kokomo High School in 1937. She worked for Stellite in Kokomo for 31 years. She was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and especially fishing in the U.P. with her friends and family, and she was very proud of her family farm. She was also an avid sports fan, particularly the Chicago Cubs and the Kentucky Wildcats under Rick Pitino. Her idea of the perfect evening was sitting around the table and playing cards with her loved ones.
She is survived by one son, Dave Delrymple, Tipton; two daughters-in-law, P.J. Schnute, Carmel, and Terri Hamblin, Macy; six grandchildren, Patrick and Melissa Delrymple, Kokomo, Heather and Rob Gifford, Kokomo, Derek Delrymple, Kokomo, Michelle Delrymple, Rochester, Kim Anderson, Colorado, and Rhonda Knoblock, Wisconsin; and several great-grandchildren.
