---- — Marvin G. Stang, 81, Kokomo, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, in Northwoods Village, Kokomo. Born March 20, 1932, in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Harry W. Stang and Iolene (Snapp) Stang. On May 6, 1954 in Laredo, Texas, he married Joan M. (Earlywine), and she survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He worked for Community Newspapers in Gas City; also owned and operated Tiques-n-Things. He played and sang gospel, country, and 1950s music all around the area. He was a life member of VFW Post 1152, attended Victory Baptist Church and loved working with wood.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joan M. Stang, Kokomo; one son, Gene (Mary) Stang, Kokomo; one brother, Donald Stang, Brookville; one sister, Shirley (Burton) Sintz, Brookville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo. Pastor Mike Ennis will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Air Force and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Memorials may be directed to Victory Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association, with envelopes available at the mortuary. Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel is handling arrangements.
