Robert L. May, 76, formerly of Kokomo, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at home in Dunedin, Fla. He married his beloved wife, Alice F. (Musgrove) May, Sept. 7, 1957. Bob was born in 1936 in Portland, Ind.
He was a member of Mid Central Operating Engineers Union for more than 30 years in the Kokomo area. Bob retired from American Crane of Kokomo in 1998.
Bob spent his winters in Florida while enjoying woodworking, the beach, bowling, fishing and other activities with his many friends. Bob and Alice spent their summers in Hartford City at Wildwood Acres Camp Ground.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice; a son, Jeffery (Denise) May, St. Johns, Fla.; a daughter, Kathryn (Jon) Haag, Fort Wayne; grandsons, Brandon (Jessie) Shiposh, Woodbridge, Va., Scott Haag, Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Krista (Jeremy) Davidson, Athens, Pa., Cassandra (Nathon) Ott, Columbus, Ohio; four great-grandsons and one on the way; and his brother, Herb (Margie) May, Portland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold May.
A celebration of life for friends and family will be in Dunedin, Fla., in late fall 2013.
