Dean Giovanni Glunt, 50, went to spend his first Mother’s Day in Heaven with his mom at 10:24 a.m. Sunday, May 12, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1962, in Kokomo, the son of Ned E. and Clara M. (Muneral) Glunt. Dean was a 1981 graduate of Western High School. He was the co-owner of Ned’s Corner Pub, a family business established by his father, Ned in 1964.
He enjoyed riding Motocross and was a NASCAR fan. He was a fan of horse racing, owning his own race horse at one time, “Just Look at Him Go.” He also enjoyed riding in his dune buggy and loved to vacation at Myrtle Beach.
Dean is survived by one son, Ryan Glunt (Brittani Armstrong) of Kokomo; grandson, Aaron Wayne-Scott Glunt of Kokomo; brothers, Kevin Glunt (Jody), Charlotte, N.C., and Mario Glunt (Carrie), Russiaville; a cousin, who was like a brother to him, Brad Hodson; several other cousins, nephews; two great-nieces; and his girlfriend, Teresa Dowler, Kokomo. He will be deeply missed by many friends whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, with the Rev. Father David Huemmer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
