---- — Catherine L. (Barnhart) Pell, 99, Kokomo, died at 5:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at North Woods Village. She was born Feb. 21, 1914, in Kokomo, the daughter of Grover and Wanda (Ronk) Barnhart. On Nov. 14, 1937, in Kokomo, she married Kermit H. Pell, who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1966.

Catherine was a 1932 graduate of Kokomo High School. She was an office clerk at Miller Furniture Store, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church and the Kokomo Senior Center. She was past county president and an 80-year member of the Howard County Extension Homemakers and a member of Heart and Home. She was a charter member of the Clay Alpha Study Club.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Wanda McQuiston, Kokomo, Karen (Karl W.) Thompson, Nineva, Emily (John) Winn, Indianapolis, Sonda Hayes, Greenwood; grandchildren, Michael McQuiston, Kermit (Joann) McQuiston, Nancy Scales, Kenneth (Laurie) Black, Roxanne (Mike) Bobo, John (Christy) Thompson, David (Amy) Thompson, Ian (Beth) Winn, Catherine Winn; great-grandchildren, Lelani Caiborne, Brandi (Chris) Jones, Jerry Mitchell Claiborne II, Catherine (Brad) Hunley, Sgt. Kenneth Black III, Kyle Ryan Hayes, Makayla Thompson, Grace Nicole Black, Matthew Winn, Isabella Bobo, Katarina Bobo and Nadia Bobo; great-great-grandchildren, Isaac Jones, Madox Hiatt, Madison Claiborne; and a dear friend, Judy Carmack, Kokomo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Oscar McQuiston; great-great-granddaughter, Liberty Rayann Jones.

Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastors Donald McDowell and Mark Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday.
