Vera Lee Conwell, 82, Kokomo, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Kokomo, to John E. and Marian (Clark) Miller. On June 30, 1950, she married Richard D. Conwell, and he survives.
She retired from Kroger. She never knew a stranger, enjoyed giving, and would help anyone in need. She loved fishing with her husband in Florida and spending time with her family. She cherished her grandchildren and was a doting mother and grandmother. She was a member of Kokomo Eagles 255.
She is survived by her husband; her children, Diana Conwell Phillips, Richard (Ruth) Conwell II and Cheryl (Ron) Stigger; son-in-law, George Perkins; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn O’Banion; and life-long best friend, Betty Shepard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Perkins; brother, Robert Miller; brother-in-law, Bill O’Banion; and two grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, with Tom Swing officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
