---- — Patsy Ann (Lawson) Speroff, 82, Kokomo, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in her home. She was born April 6, 1931, in Kokomo to the late Walter V. and Norene (Cohee) Lawson. In November 1971, Patsy married James Speroff. They were happily married until his passing in March 1999.

In the 1960’s, Pasty owned and operated Sears Westside Drugstore. She then began working at Delco Electronics in 1972, and was employed there into the mid 1990s. Patsy was a member and volunteer at the East 91st Street Christian Church, Indianapolis, where she worked with the Spousal Grief Group for over 10 years. Patsy was also involved with and supported the Delco Retirees group, Red Hat Society, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indianapolis Zoo, Indianapolis Symphony, Eiteljorg Museum and the Indianapolis Aero Club. Patsy enjoyed painting and studying painting. She won several awards with her paintings, including awards at the Indiana State Fair. Patsy enjoyed visiting the Walt Disney Resort with family, and had been every year since they opened in October 1971.

Patsy is survived by her daughters, Julie Bygden Altman and Michele Sears Gingerich; grandchildren, Jamie (Eric) Shafer and Megan, Madeline, Sarah and Ashley Gingerich; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Jacob Shafer.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Speroff.

There will be a funeral service for Patsy at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., with Minister John C. Samples officiating. Patsy’s friends and family are welcome to join for a time of visitation from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, also at the mortuary.
