Nancy Elizabeth Holiday, 81, LaPorte, passed away peacefully at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Hamilton Communities, New Carlisle. She was born on Dec. 24, 1931, in Kokomo, to Harold Sr. and Esther E. (Heater) Miller.
Nancy was a seamstress for many years and sewed for Grace Memorial Church and different members. She also loved to read, collect snow babies and praying hands. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Moore, LaPorte, and Marcella Ploughe, Kokomo; one son, Patrick Schmidt, Carmel; two brothers, Paul (Misako) Miller, Union Mills, and Robert Miller, Arizona; one sister, Martha McNichol, Kokomo; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Memorial Institutional Church, 1417 N. Delphos St., Kokomo, with Pastor Milton Hall officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Road, LaPorte, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.
