Dorothy Jeanne Titus, 75, Auburndale, Fla., formerly of Logansport, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, in Spring Lake Rehab Center, Winter Haven, Fla., due to heart failure. Born Jan. 17, 1938, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Nina Belle Jones Rombold. She was married to Joe Titus, who survives.
A homemaker, Dorothy was a member of Walton Christian Church. Dorothy was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed painting, crafts and puzzles. Dorothy collected Elvis memorabilia. She especially cherished time spent with her family and friends. She was also a devoted Purdue fan. Dorothy and Joe had moved to Auburndale 1 1/2 years ago to enjoy the warmer climate.
Surviving with her husband of 43 years are four sons, Robert (Lisa) Titus, Walton, Joseph Titus II, Walton, Timothy Titus, Walton, and Donald (Kathy) Titus, Galveston; two daughters, Melissa (Dean) Sherman, Royal Center, and Lisa (Mike) Edmunds, Auburndale, Fla.; brother, Fredrick Rombold, Logansport; sister, Yvonne (Frank) Austin, Logansport; three special friends, Brenda Hawkins, Tammy Fuqua and Sue Mease, all of Auburndale, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Peaches.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Lynn; one granddaughter, Amanda; two grandsons, Stern and Isaiah; one sister, Maryann Demsar; and Jim and Eunice Noble, who were like second parents to her.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Fisher Funeral Chapel, 1801 Chase Road, Logansport. Mike Montgomery, of Walton Christian Church, and grandson Zachary Babb will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
