James “Jimmy” Francis DePalma, 41, Kokomo, passed away at 9 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at home. He was born March 24, 1972, in Kokomo to James Phillip DePalma and Tae “Suki” B. (Son) Thompson.
Jimmy was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who loved spending time with friends and family. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart and he spent any free time he had with them. Jimmy was a talented musician, had a great sense of humor and loved the Lord. He attended ITT Technical Institute and enjoyed creating things for his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Suki Thompson; grandmother, Illa DePalma; sisters, Susan (DePalma) Henn and Jane DePalma; several aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, Braedon Cannon, Christofer Henn, Kylinn DePalma, Isaiah Henn, Korea DePalma and Caleb Henn.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Phillip DePalma; paternal grandfather, Francis “Frank” DePalma; maternal grandparents, Dr. Chang Hoi and Num Ju Lee Son; great-grandparents, Ben and Lola Stewart and James and Mildred DePalma; and a brother-in-law, Jeremy Henn.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Tony Manis officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
