Mary “Rosalee” Stout, 80, Carmel, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013. She was born May 27, 1932, in Kokomo to the late Arthur and Gladys Staton. On Feb. 28, 1959, in Kokomo, she married James L. Stout. James passed away in 1997.
Rosalee was a dance instructor, teaching dance classes in Kokomo, where she met her husband, James. She also taught dancing in Oakland, Calif., and Shreveport, La. Rosalee was also a Realtor, selling homes on Siesta Key, Sarasota, Fla., where she lived for more than 20 years. She was a member of United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association and Prime Life Enrichment (The Prime Life Follies). She enjoyed table tennis, ballroom dancing, bird watching and her family and friends. She was kind, young at heart and will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are her son, David; and daughter in-law, Margaret Stout, Carmel, and three grandchildren, Jayme Stout, James Stout and Jazmine Stout.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Charles Staton and Gene Staton; and one sister, Patricia Staton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor Claude Creel officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
