Harry Linville Stout, 91, Windfall, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Windfall to John A. and Lusittie (Love) Stout. Harry married Gerda H. Schuler in 1952 in Windfall and she survives.
Employed by Purdue University as a foreign language professor for many years, Harry retired in 1987. He was an Army World War II veteran, serving 1943 to 1945. Memberships includes the Howard Chapel Wesleyan Church in Windfall, the National Rifle Association, the Republican Party and Cherry Lane Dudes.
He is survived by his wife, Gerda Stout, Windfall; sister, Edna Burkett, Tipton; sister-in-law, Elaine Stout, Windfall; and many nieces, nephews, caretakers, friends and church family.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Leatherman-Morris-Boyer Funeral Home, 314 N. Main St., Tipton, with Pastor David Stout officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, Disabled Veterans or the National Rifle Association. Leatherman-Morris-Boyer Funeral Home in Tipton is in charge of arrangements.
