Calvin Cron, Hudson, Fla., formerly of Kokomo, died Jan. 7, 2013, at Hermando-Paxo Hospice Center, New Port Richey, Fla. He was born March 8, 1928, in Wichita, Kan., to James C. and Zilpha M. (Chase) Cron.
He retired from Chrysler Transmission, Kokomo, after 34 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. In Kokomo, he was a Boy Scout leader for several years. His hobbies were woodworking, draft drawing and guitar picking.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melzie, Tommy, Albert and William; and his beloved son, Tommy Joe Cron.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Helen (Duncan) Cron; son, Timothy Kent Cron, Mousseline, Ohio; daughter, Patricia Lou Devlin, Palm Harbor, Fla.; sister, Frances (Cron) Filip, Kokomo; brothers, Charles, Kokomo, Virgil, Florida, and Richard, Colorado; and eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nine stepchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, 17 stepgreat-grandchildren and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Jan. 18, 2013, in Hudson, Fla., with the Rev. Virgil Cron, brother of Calvin, administering services.
