Wilma Edna Vura, 80, Kokomo, passed away at 3:08 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at North Woods Village. Born March 7, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie (Brishka) Mueller and stepfather Lawrence (Ozzie) Osborn.
She was a graduate of Parma High School in Parma, Ohio. She and her family moved to Illinois in 1974. She worked at various convenience stores, and then retired from Cub Foods as a deli manager in 2003 after 16 years of service. She moved to Kokomo in 2012 to be with Steve and Stacy’s family. She loved NASCAR and Chicago sports teams.
Survivors include one son, Stephen (Stacy) Vura, Kokomo; two sisters, Beverly and Janet, both of Ohio; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; two brothers, Herb and Ken Mueller; and her oldest son, James R. Vura Jr. James R. Vura Sr. also preceded her.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the mortuary. Ellers Mortuary is handling arrangements.
