Victor A. Varnau, Clarkston, Mich., formerly of Kokomo, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, after a courageous battle with brain cancer, at the age of 55.
Victor was an extraordinary father and the lifelong love of his wife, Janny. He was a lector and member at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Davisburg, Mich. He became a spiritual director after completing an Ignatian Spirituality Internship at Manresa Jesuit Retreat House. Vic was a financial analyst for Chrysler, Auburn Hills, Mich. He was a Jeep enthusiast who loved camping and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Janny; was the father of Shera (Aaron) Stewart, Ellie, Mary Kate, Betsy and Annalisa; grandpa of Victor Michael; son of Mary Varnau and Wilbur (Carol) Varnau; brother of Mike (Susan), Pat Bagwell, Jim (Janet), Cathy Kurtz, Jeanne (Robert) Reames, Steve (Michelle) and Scot (Jenny); son-in-law of Donna and the late Mark Daily; and brother-in-law of Sherry (Gary) Gillund, Don Daily, Tim (Amy) Daily, Doug (Anna Marie) Daily and Mark Daily.
A Scripture service is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral Home, 5929 S. Main St., Clarkston, Mich., where friends may visit 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Daniel Catholic Church, 7010 Valley Park Drive, Clarkston, Mich., where friends may visit directly at the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.
