Theresa Whitehead Jackson, 64, Kokomo, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Community Howard Regional Health. Theresa Whitehead Jackson was born Sept. 22, 1949, the daughter of James R. Whitehead and Margaret L. Meriweather Whitehead in Indianapolis.
She was employed as an Inspector for Delco Electronics a Division of General Motors, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a greeter, an assistant on the culinary ministry and the helping hands ministry. She was also a member of the UAW Local 292.
She enjoyed cooking, shopping, hosting parties, decorating, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a volunteer for the Kokomo Community Gardens.
She is survived by her son, James L. (Jimmy Mack) Jackson Jr.; daughter, Yulanda K. Cummings (James); brothers, Ronald Whitehead, Keith Whitehead and Michael Wilson, both of Indianapolis; sisters, Evelyn Bullock (Pastor Cornelius), Indianapolis, Diane Whitehead, and Manone (Boo) Whitehead, Indianapolis; godbrother, Eddie Bethea; goddaughter, Allison Burnette; and six grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Kayley, Victoria, Jameson and Gregory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lawson; and one granddaughter, Adrieonna.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Lonnie E. Anderson will be the officiant and eulogist. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
