Dennis W. Cook, 69, Walton, passed away at 1:21 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1944, in Cass County, to George and Geneva (Shirley) Cook. On Jan. 11, 1976, he married Rose Kirkham and she survives.
Denny retired as a heavy equipment operator for Brown Construction. He was a member of the Galveston American Legion and the Laborers International Union. He was a past member of the Walton Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed NASCAR and being with his friends and family.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Rose Cook, Walton; son, David (Christina) Cook; daughters, Mellonee (John) Mayhill and Kimberly Larimore; stepchildren, Jack Harrison; Melissa Harrison; Bridget (Craig) Wolf, and Calvin Burton; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Ron) Garber, and Becky (Mike) Foreman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. No funeral services are planned.
