James Randolph Cox, 64, Kokomo, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 28, 1948, in Kokomo, to the late William Randolph and Lura Catherine (Stafford) Cox. He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1968 and then attended Ball State University.
Jim was drafted into The U.S. Army in September 1978 and served a tour of duty in Vietnam.
He was employed in commercial roofing by Mayes of Kokomo, both Goodyear Roofing and Firestone Roofing, both of Ohio.
He is survived by a sister, Marilynda K. Cox Bennett, Kokomo; sister-in-law, Phyllis E. Cox, Kokomo; two nieces, Jennifer E. Cox, Chicago, and Catherine Lacey (Bennett), Olny, Ill.; and a nephew, William C. Cox, Kokomo.
James was preceded in death by his parents; William and Catherine Cox; and two brothers, Harmon Cox and William S. Cox.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Grace United Methodist Church, 219 W. Mulberry St., Kokomo, with Pastor Brian Cook officiating. Ellers Mortuary 3400 S. Webster St., has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
