Jackie Lee “Poo” Miller, 77, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, in his residence. He was born April 29, 1935 in Gas City, to the late Russell and Louise Miller. He married Patricia Lynn Markwith, and she survives.
Jack was a 1954 graduate of Mississinewa High School. He was a boiler chief in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. Jack drove a semi for 20 years and worked for SME Trucking of Upland and retired from Thompson Trucking. He also previously worked at Miller Gas Station for 15 years, and at General Motors of Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Frog” Miller, Gas City; brothers, Jim (Marian) Miller, Tucson, Ariz., and Tom (Mary) Miller, Clayton, N.C.; sisters, Sandy Hall, Jonesboro, and Ann (Eddie) Simmons, Marion; several nieces and nephews; and cat, Buckshot.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral service, with Pastor Bill Surfy officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery, Upland.
