Merna Elva Nutter, 87, Kokomo, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Specialty Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in West Virginia, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Painter) McLure. She was married to Earl L. Nutter, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1970.
She was a 1942 graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked for Delco Radio, retiring after 35 years of service. She enjoyed living the good life at the Primrose Retirement Community in Kokomo.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Fred L. and Jeannie Nutter, Florida, Dennis W. and Dawnita Nutter, and Max E. Nutter, all of Indiana. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Ada Conn, Florence Ousley, Harriet Rauschart; and brother Marriott McLure.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Rev. Dawnita K. Nutter officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
