Virgil R. Rutledge Jr. went peacefully to meet his Lord at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013. He was married to Erma Key Rutledge, and she preceded him in death.
He struggled many years with many medical issues. We wish him well on his journey home.
Surviving are a brother, Tom Rutledge and wife Pauline, Jasonville; a sister, Betty Schulz, Jasonville; sister-in-law, Wilma Rutledge, Indianapolis; and granddaughter, Andrea Chapman, Kokomo.
Virgil was a member of the Church of Christ in Tipton. He was a wonderful, kind, Christian who was well-liked by everyone. He was a gifted musician, enjoying singing and playing his bass guitar. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
Per his request, there will be no viewing. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Albright Cemetery, Kokomo.
