---- — Tom Osborne, 52, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at his home in Kokomo. He was born the son of John and Sonja (Summerton) Osborne on July 15, 1961, in Kokomo.

Tom graduated from Kokomo High School. He worked in surgery transport at St. Joseph Hospital for 11½ years, at Soupley’s Jefferson and Phillips location for 10 years, and at Osborne Auto Upholstery, his brother’s business, for several years. He was an avid Colts fan who also enjoyed golf and doing crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sonja (Phil) Powell, Greentown; father, John Lee (Karen) Osborne, Naples, Fla.; sister, Lisa Mannion, Kokomo; brother, Dana Osborne, Kokomo; son, Brandon Thrasher, Greentown; step-brother, Mark Powell, Troy, Mich.; Tom’s very best friend, Linda Cardwell, Greentown; nephew, Christopher Osborne; nieces, Shanna and Marla Mannion; uncle, Dick (Sandy) Summerton, Greentown; and aunts, Betty Weir, Kokomo, Mary Ann (Mike) Burke.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Lee Osborne.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., with the Rev. Father Mike McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home and Crematory Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Scripture service is planned at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

I want to thank all the doctors and nurses in the emergency department at St. Joseph Hospital. They all treated Tom so well and never acted like it was a burden to them. Especially Dr. Devaul, Dr. Dhinsa, Dr. Hahn and Dr. Ennis, all the nurses who took care of him, Sharon, Jan, Karen, Julie, Moe, Suzie, Deb and Greg. I thank you. I loved him so much. Tom’s mother.
