Ross G. Jordan III

Nov. 29, 1989 – Aug. 17, 2013

Ross G. Jordan III, 23, Batesville, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at his residence. Born Nov. 29, 1989, in Batesville, he is the son of Marilyn (Shriver) and Jeffrey Jordan. He married Lorie Borgman Sept. 12, 2009, in Batesville.

He was a welder-fabricator for Custom Conveyor Inc.

His family shared what a terrific husband and father he was and his love of family. They also told of his happy, easy-going nature, his big heart and willingness to help others. Ross enjoyed being outdoors doing activities that ranged from fishing to working on cars to shooting. Other hobbies included collecting guns, playing guitar and, according to his family, he was a good cook and a master of the grill. Ross was artistic with a knack for drawing and with his welding skills was talented at making metal art. Having a love for spicy foods, Ross ate at El Raparo regularly, always ordering the same thing, the huge, hot and fiery Donkey Burrito. One of his families’ favorite stories which brings laughter each time it’s told, involves Ross and a four- wheeler: Getting an old four-wheeler up and running, he was at his mother’s house and called for everyone’s attention. While riding a wheelie, he lost control, destroying his mother’s deck and managed to knock himself out in the process.

Ross is survived by his wife Lorie; son Colton; mother Marilyn Jordan, Batesville; sisters, Rachel Dwenger, Floman, Ala., Sarah Blaum, Westport, Abby Blaum, Greensburg, Emily Jordan, Indianapolis; grandparents, Ross and Mary Anne Jordan, Kokomo; and mother and father-in-law, Debbie and Jerry Borgman, Batesville.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Weigel Funeral Home, 151 W. George St., Batesville. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeremy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Batesville United Methodist Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Colton J. Jordan Benefit Fund at FCN bank. Online condolences may be made at www.weigelfh.com.
