---- — Reuben Gerald Darwine “Gary” King, 62, Kokomo, passed away at 12:08 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. Born July 25, 1951, in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Orville H. King and Mary A. (Glassburn) King.
He was a 1970 graduate of Kokomo High School. He was also a veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was a die caster at the Kokomo Chrysler Casting Plant for 16 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed playing the violin, fishing, and had attended First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include one brother, Ron (Arlene) King, Kokomo; four sisters, Lynda (Mike) Randolph, Kokomo, Lanora (Charles) Eldridge, Louisville, Ky., Connie Roseberry, Houma, La., and Sue Perry, Kokomo; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. Pastor David Leeder will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
