Jerra P. Zbasnik

Jerra P. Zbasnik, 77, Kokomo, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born April 3, 1936, in Pleasant Lake, to Ira Willard and Delores (Cook) Dirrim. She married Lewis Dale Gaunt in 1954, and he preceded her in death in 1963. In 1965, she married Thomas Zbasnik, and he preceded her in death in 2007.

She graduated from Peru High School in 1954 and worked for Sears for 14½ years before retiring to become a full time grandma. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Tari Jo Belt, Steven (Anna) Gaunt, Anna (Todd) Cripe, and Laura (Jerome) Miller; grandchildren, Christopher Belt, Kokomo, Angie Belt, Kokomo, Matthew Belt, Kokomo, Stephanie Gaunt, Indianapolis, Jason (Sarina) Gaunt, Kokomo, Corporal Clay Kingsolver, USMC, Kokomo, Hillari Cripe, Kokomo, Amanda Kingsolver, Kokomo, and Chase Miller, Kokomo; seven great-grandchildren; half-brother, Larry Dirrim, Arizona; sister-in-law, Jean Dirrim, Muncie; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Phillis) Zbasnik, Brooklyn Heights, Ohio, Paul (Delores) Zbasnik, Llano, Texas, Dorothy Godfrey, Nova, Ohio, Christine Shisila, Parma, Ohio and Mary Shamakian, Brooklyn Heights, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her dog and faithful companion, Ollie.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janice Godsey; and brother Lowell Dirrim.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 W., Kokomo, with Father Joshua Bennett presiding. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
