---- — Bill Harrison, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 4:23 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Community Howard Regional Hospital. He was born July 20, 1934, in Erie, Tenn., to James and Grace Lee (Lemmons) Harrison. On Aug. 28, 1953, he married Mildred Rose Moore in New Castle.
Bill attended school in Ten Mile, Tenn. Once he moved to Indiana in 1952, he worked as a farmer raising chickens, and also worked construction with Wymondy Greenhouse Construction. Bill was employed with Chrysler in 1953 and retired as a truck driver in 1990. He was a member of UAW 685, and was on a bowling league with Chrysler employees. Bill played in pool tournaments at the UAW Hall. He also enjoyed his 2 p.m. coffee breaks with his buddies at the Breakfast House. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and loved tending to his beautiful yard and flowers. Bill was a pocket-knife collector and loved watching sports such as NASCAR, football and basketball. He was always tinkering with his projects around the house. He was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church. Bill loved Jesus, his family and his church family with all his heart.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Rose Harrison, Kokomo; children, Diane (Charles “Buster”) Arnett, Kokomo, Marvin (Judy) Harrison, Kokomo, and Lisa (Max) Arnett, Clearfield, Utah; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Day, Richmond, Jessie Borgdon, Modock and Sue (Rick) Callahan, Lynn; brother, Robert (Louise) Harrison, Ten Mile, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.D. Harrison; sister, Ruby Kemplen; baby sister, Lucy Mae Harrison; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 616 Touby Pike. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
