Sandra K. “Sandy” McAlpin, 63, Kokomo, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Northwoods Village. She was born April 28, 1950, in Kokomo, to William “Bill” and Barbara (Thompson) Hutto. On April 16, 1981, she married Mark McAlpin, and he survives.
She graduated from Kokomo High School and Wright Beauty College. She worked as a hairstylist at Hair Biz before retiring. She enjoyed making crafts, collecting Longaberger baskets, and watching QVC. She also enjoyed her bichon frise puppies. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and two stepdaughters, Stacy (Marco) Roncal, Kelly (John) Uncapher, and Michelle (Erik) Orstead; six grandchildren, Sofia, Elizabeth, Justin, Emma, Madison, and Ethan; one sister, Shelly (Mike) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and Jackie Branch, her best friend and a good Christian, who stood by her through everything.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Hutto.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, 1967 W. Boulevard, with Pastor Jeff Sexton officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
