James M. “Caveman” Johnson, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Community Howard Regional Health. Born Jan. 6, 1943, in Tipton County, he is the son of the late Montel Johnson and Mildred (Kelly) Johnson. On Oct. 18, 1965, in Kokomo, he married Diana Lynn (Lane). She preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2011.
James retired from Kokomo Opalescent Glass. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and playing games.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Johnson and Shawn Johnson, both of Kokomo; one daughter, Annette (Roger) Slaton, Bunker Hill; one brother, Eddie Johnson, Kokomo; one sister, Linda; six grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy Johnson; and four brothers.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Albright Cemetery, 3910 S. Albright Road, with Pastor Darletha Page officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St.
