Robert Hale, 61, died at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 7, 1951, in Kokomo, the son of Robert G. and Barbara (Morris) Hale. On Dec. 18, 1976, he married Lou Ann Kennedy, and she survives him.
He was a 1970 graduate of Haworth High School, and retired from the Kokomo Fire Department in 2003, after 29 1/2 years of service. He also did security work at Ivy Tech College. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, racing and camping. He also loved old movies.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann; children, Robert Benjamin (Stephanie) Hale, Galveston, Joseph Ryan (Jennifer) Hale, Kokomo, Amy (Stanley) Richards, Ohio, and Jason Hale, Rochester; grandchildren, Robert Cody Hale, Clayton Hale, Tyler Hale, Jasmine Hale, Amber Richards, Stanley Richards and Stephanie Richards; siblings, Steve Hale, Noblesville, and Kim (Chuck) Coffee, Kentucky; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with the Rev. Chuck Armstrong officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
