David Aaron Crow III, 50, Kokomo, passed away at 9:52 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born June 13, 1962, in Kokomo to the late David Aaron and Orpha Marie (Tygart) Crow. On Oct. 30, 1987, in Kokomo, he married Debra Hightower, who survives.
David worked and raced at the Kokomo Speedway and then went on to serve 17 years with the City of Kokomo as a heavy equipment operator. He loved racing and volunteering for We Care for more than 20 years. Most of all David loved spending time with his grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Crow; a son, Jeremy (Chanteal) Crow; a grandson Brayden Crow; brothers, Richard (Jody) Crow, Paul (Sharon) Crow; and sisters, Barbara (David) Mygrant, Judy (James) Justice and Sandra (Gary) Edgerley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Paul Crow; and a sister, Marilyn.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastors David Mygrant and Jeff Hightower officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
It was David’s wish that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harris Bank, where a trust has been established for his grandson, Brayden. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be submitted online at shirleyandstout.com.
