Monty Dean “Dino” Burress, 49, Russiaville, a cancer survivor of 31 years, died at home after suffering from heart failure at 10:48 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. He married Tony Kay in 1991 in Kokomo, and she survives. Dino was born Oct. 18, 1963, in Kokomo to Dick and Mary (Cardwell) Burress.
Dino served in the National Guard from 1981 until 1983. He loved spending time with family and friends. Dino enjoyed traveling and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Tonya Burress; son, Elijah Ira Dean Burress; sister Kathy (Steve) Russell, Sharon McCracken, both of Kokomo; brothers, Bill (Kathy) Burress, Dave (Kathy) Burress, Darrell (Linda) Burress, all of Kokomo; sisters-in-law, Lisa (Rick) Turnpaugh, Texas, Kelly (Stuart) Harris, Arkansas, Erica (Cliff) Cartwright, Florida, and Monica Lemmons, Kokomo; brother in-law, Jack (Tammy) Reynolds, Allen Reynolds, Alabama; 25 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Mary Burress; brothers, Rich Burress and Nicky Joe Burress; mother in-law, Elizabeth Shephard; and a nephew, Eric Scott Turnpaugh.
No funeral services are planed. Friends may call to celebrate Dino’s life at his home from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses. Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, assisted in the funeral arrangements.
