Sarah Jane Aaron, 81, Kokomo, passed away at 9:32 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at her residence. She was born Dec. 21, 1931, to the late Bud and Zola Mae (McBee) Harwood. On Aug. 2, 1948, Sarah married Carl L. Aaron, who survives. Sarah graduated from Kokomo High School, worked for 29 years at Delco, loved traveling, reading and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She was a very generous person, with a kind heart and helped many people. Sarah was also a breast cancer survivor.
Survivors include her husband, Carl; a son, Jeffrey “Mark” (Sherrie) Aaron; grandchildren, Jacob M., Jennifer M., and Katie E. Aaron; a sister, Mary Partlow, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Robert Harwood, who was an Army Ranger in World War II.
Services for Sarah will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. Pastor Steve Sherwood will be officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
