David says thanks
Debbie Fry of Kokomo sends this Cheer:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Kokomo Tribune for their excellent coverage of my grandson’s journey and winning of American Idol 2008. I would also like to thank the radio stations for playing his music.
“Along with myself, David’s Aunt Susie and Uncle Andy Castner, Uncle David Frye, his mom, Beth (Frye) Foraker and all his extended family, we would like to personally thank all of our friends for their many hours of watching and voting for David. Your votes helped put him where he is today, and I know David thanks you.
“I would also like to extend a personal thank you to James Stamper. He went way beyond the call of duty, passing out posters, buying T-shirts and telling everyone he knew and a lot of people he didn’t know about David, from here to Indy. Thanks, James.
“David’s new album will be out in November and he is very excited about it. Right now he is touring with the top 10 in the U.S. and Canada and as the song says, he is having the ‘Time of His Life’.”
Thanks for your support
Chauntelle Dukes of GreenTree Assisted Living sends this Cheer:
“Mental Health America (formerly Mental Heath Association of Howard County) wishes to thank the Greentown Lions Club and the Howard County 4-H Committee for sponsoring our ‘MHA Day at the Fair’ on July 9. The Greentown Lions Club and 4-H Fair provided delicious meals and rides to over 250 consumers of the Mental Health America. We would like to thank volunteers. Joe Breedlove, Brittany Breeden, Amber Brooks, Brittany Campbell, Pam Dillman, Bernie Dockemeyer, Bob and Vickie Draper, Angie Kelly, Janette Land, Cathy Meleason, Jay Miller, Wayne and Marilyn Orem, MHA Staff and 4-H Queen and her court.
“Special thanks to Jay Freeman and Chad Ortman for making sure it was a fun day for all!
“On Saturday, June 21, GreenTree Assisted Living held an outdoor Gospel sing and ice cream social for our residents and the community. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Kesling Home Health, KMA Service Center, White Lily Flower Shop, Big Ben Coffee Co. and Collision Cure for their sponsorship of this event. Without the sponsorship of our friends in business, events such as this would not be possible. I would also like to thank Bill Martin and ‘Family Ties’ for sharing their amazing gift of song with us. The event was a huge success, the weather was perfect, and all that attended has a wonderful time. May God richly bless all that played a part in this event!”
Kokomo right to annex
Jeff Searnes of Kokomo sends this Cheer to Mayor Greg Goodnight:
“I heard that in Muncie, a group of residents stopped fighting annexation after they realized the 1-percent property cap would keep their taxes from going out of control. It is too bad people here don’t realize that.
“And to people who keep saying annexation is an example of Democrat greed? Muncie’s Mayor, Sharon McShurley, is a Republican, and their last mayor, who started the annexation process, was also a Republican.
“In the Muncie Star Press, McShurley said population growth is an important part of attracting new business.
“Republican Mayor Sharon McShurley is right, and so is Democratic Mayor Greg Goodnight.”
