In my time here on earth I’ve seen things happen, some for the good and some for the bad.
In my time as a youngster, we had rules set down by our parents that were the base of our being. Those rules were never changed just because we grew older, and today we try to instill the same base for our children. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not. It all depends on the family life at home and whether that life remains the same as we try to give our children a better life than we had as youngsters.
In other words, we have to ask ourselves if anything we were taught meant something in our training or was just going in one ear and out the other.
I look at the newspapers and television and I see so much bad going on in our world today. Was it that way when we were children, or is it a look at our future? Did we do a bad job of training our kids to be able to know wrong is wrong? Do we have to change our ways or is it too late? Could life be hell on earth for those who decide to follow the bad way of living here?
We who grew up with strict rules know our parents wanted the best for us, but did we as grown-ups desert that training and start on the path of destruction for the rest of our lives? I have to say all of us in my family have tried and succeeded in bringing our training to our children.
One day you will not have parents with you. We have to decide that in order to walk the line, we have to remember what mom and dad taught us. Hey, we are not perfect in how we live, but we do try to walk the path given to us and, hopefully, we walk it straight.
