Apologies for slur, abrupt departure
I apologize to one person in particular and to the class as a whole for voicing aloud a racial slur. I am truly sorry! I did it without malice; it was part of a plea for cooperation and an attempt to seek a show of respect for everyone in the classroom.
I am paying dearly for that one time indiscretion. But I understand that there are consequences for what I have said.
I also apologize to the 30 Latin students at Kokomo High School and Sts. Joan of Arc and Patrick Catholic School who have been without a qualified teacher since Feb. 12 and will remain without one through the end of the school year.
I apologize to the hundred seniors whom I left in the lurch with my sudden and unceremonious departure. I wish you all the best in the future.
To friends and colleagues, I say … “Valete.”
