Police look at possible hit/skip

Kokomo police traced a trail of dripping automotive fluids late Saturday in an attempt to locate a vehicle involved in an alleged hit-and-run incident.

A witness told police they were standing in their front yard when a red sedan heading south, in the 2300 block of North Cooper Street, hit a 1988 GMC Sierra parked on Cooper.

According to the witness, the driver of the red sedan appeared stunned by the impact, but managed to start their car back up and leave the scene, heading south on Cooper and then east on Morgan Street. But officers followed a trail of fluids to an address in the 1800 block of Northview Boulevard, finding the wrecked sedan in a garage there. No one would come to the door, however, so police were unable to complete their investigation.

Police said the vehicle’s plates came back to the owner of the Northview home where the car was parked. He was identified as Randy C. Stone, 1801 Northview Boulevard. No charges have been filed in the incident.
