Students OK after school bus crash

Kokomo Police Maj. Brian Seldon said no students were injured early Monday when a Kokomo-Center school bus collided with a car on the city’s north side.

The bus had two students on board about 7:32 a.m. when a sedan driven by Jason McKibben, 30, Kokomo, failed to stop at the intersection of Apperson and North Street. McKibben, who was headed eastbound on North, said he tried to stop but his car slid on the icy surface, into the path of the oncoming bus. Police said the bus driver had the green light at the intersection.

No one on the bus was injured, while McKibben was treated at the scene for a minor wrist injury.

Howard County arrests

Monday, 12:15 p.m., police arrested Jessica Deaton, 24, 00 block of Southdown Drive, at home, on a petition to revoke.

Monday, 12:17 p.m., police arrested a 17-year-old male, in the 200 block of Southway Boulevard, on charges of conversion and illegal possession of alcohol.

Monday, 3:10 p.m., police arrested Julie A. Avery, 46, 2100 block of North Market Street, at Morgan and Washington streets, on a warrant charge of battery.

Monday, 3:55 p.m., police arrested Jordan G. Etherington, 18, 700 block of West Monroe Street, at home, on a warrant for a felony theft charge.

Monday, 3:56 p.m., police arrested a 14-year-old female, in the 500 block of Elk Drive, on charges of battery and disobedience.

Monday, 4:44 p.m., police arrested Adam L. Spencer, 26, 3600 block of South 350 East, at North and Washington streets, on a charge of driving while suspended.

Monday, 7:25 p.m., police arrested James T. Doan, 48, 1400 block of North Morrison Street, at Courtland Avenue and North Street, on a warrant charge of domestic battery.

Monday, 9:25 p.m., police arrested Constance D. Thompson, 36, 300 block of East Carter Street, at home, on a felony methamphetamine possession charge, on a Madison County parole violation warrant, and on a charge of false informing.

Monday, 9:25 p.m., police arrested Doris A. Vincent, 45, 1800 block of North Washington Street, in the 300 block of East Carter Street, on a warrant charge of failure to appear.

Tuesday, 12:17 a.m., police arrested Anthony D. Hardiman, 43, 900 block of East Broadway, at Monroe and LaFountain streets, on a felony cocaine possession charge, and on a warrant charge of failure to appear.

Tuesday, 4:13 a.m., deputies arrested Carl R. Brown, 28, Peru, at the Howard County jail, on a charge of operating while intoxicated.

Miami County arrests

Thursday, 7:10 p.m., police arrested Duane E. Rutledge, 45, 700 block of Woodburn Green, Peru, on a charge of domestic battery.

Friday, 2:35 a.m., police arrested Cory E. Brooks, 26, 1000 block of West 300 North, Peru, on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of precursors with intent to manufacture, possession of a syringe and operating while intoxicated refusal.

Friday, 11:30 a.m., state police arrested James M. Black, 60, 10000 block of South 550 East, Amboy, on a charge of child molestation.

Friday, 2 p.m., deputies arrested Christopher Peek, 23, 100 block of East Cleveland Street, Bunker Hill, on a warrant for violation of home detention.

Saturday, 4:50 p.m., deputies arrested Leonardo Zaca-Nayotl, 24, Warsaw, on a charge of operator never licensed.

Saturday, 10:53 p.m., deputies arrested Adam Ray, 27, 800 block of Bobtail Court, Peru, on a warrant for possession of paraphernalia.

Saturday, 11:25 p.m., deputies arrested Terrance C. Hendrix, 59, 6000 block of North Meridian Road, Peru, on a warrant for residential entry.
